Wireless Video Conferencing from Reliance

Reliance communications will launch soon the Wireless video conferencing system in India. This is a joint venture of Reliance communications and Polycom. Polycom is the major players in the area of telepresence service. The new proposed system in India combines the Video conferencing system of Polycom and the Wireless broadband data card from Reliance. Reliance authorities said that the new system will considerably reduce the cost of video conferencing.

The marketing of this Wireless Video Conferencing system will be done by Reliance Webstore which is the Retail wing from Reliance ADB group. In the initial phase the launch will be done in 40 cities.

At present Reliance is providing video conferencing facility to 1500 corporate firms. This is at present achieved by 200 video conferencing suits of various Reliance world store throughout the country. This system is a costly one.

The new proposed system will introduce the convenience of video conferencing to various sectors such as Education, Event management, Media, Hospitality.

The wireless video conferencing from Reliance costs about 2 lakhs Rs. The connectivity cost per month is about 1500 Rs. This avails a data usage of 10 GB per month. Each MB after this limit costs 50 ps.
