IBM and Oracle to Technopark
International Computer giants IBM and Oracle are coming to Trivandrum Technopark. They are having plans of establishing a unit in the IT centre of Kerala. Both of these companies had discussions with Kerala IT department regarding the plans and possibilities. The arrival of these well reputed companies can create great effects in industrial sector of Kerala. Technopark of Trivandrum was established in late 90’s and now there are about 185 companies running there. About 30000 people are working in this IT Park. These 2 companies are capable of creating about 4000 job opportunities in Technopark. The interests shown by multinational companies in Trivandrum Technopark is an added advantage for the mission of making Kerala the fastest growing IT destination of the country.
Logo Unveiling of Lulu Shopping Mall
The logo unveiling ceremony of Lulu shopping mall at Edapally, Kochi will be held tomorrow 11 am (03-04-2010) at Le Meridian Convention Centre. The logo unveiling will be done by Kerala chief minister Shri. V.S. Achuthanandan. The logo will be received by Shri. T.K.A. Nair, principal secretary to the prime minister. The chief guest of the function is H.E. Sheikha Lubna Al Quassimi who is the UAE minister of foreign trade. The function will be presided by Shri.Oomen Chandy, the leader of opposition. The website of the shopping mall will be launched by Shri. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Minister of Home and Tourism of Kerala. The Brochure of the shopping mall will be released by Prof.K.V. Thomas, Minister of State for Agriculture. The first brochure will be received by Shri. M.V. Nair, Chairman and Managing Director of Union Bank of India. The welcome speech will be delivered by Shri. Yusuffali M.A who is the Managing Director of EMKE group and Lulu International shopping mall.

IPL team brings Joy and happiness in Kerala
The major investors other than Rondevu Sports World Ltd are Parini developers, Film Wavees and Anchor Earth.
The IPL auction was held at Hotel Park Sheraton in Adayar. The Kerala Cricket association secretary T.C Mathew and the representatives of the companies were present in the function. The chief coordinator of the Kerala IPL team Shasi Tharoor was not present in the auction. The ownership of the team is for 10 years. The new teams will hit the ground by the year 2011. The total number of IPL teams has now become 10. There will 94 matches a year. The auction of the players to various teams will be held on September. The 2 cities were selected from the list of cities including Cochin, Pune, Ahmadabad, Kanpur, Nagpur, Dharmashala, Vishakapatanam, Cuttack, Rajkot, Baroda, Indore and Gwalior.
The highest bid was from Sahara and the second highest was from Rondevu Sports World Ltd. Sahara was able to select the city of their choice, and they selected Pune. Now Maharashtra has got 2 teams.
All the South Indian states have now got IPL teams. Kerala now has Cochin team, Bangalore Royal Challengers for Karnataka, Hyderabad Deccan Chargers for Andhra Pradesh and Chennai super kings for Tamil Nadu.
The IPL team of Cochin brings great hope to Kerala. It can provide a very good and respectable International branding for Cochin and Kerala. The players from Kerala can get the opportunity to play with International players. The IPL can generate more new players from Kerala. The funds and benefits for Kerala Cricket association from BCCI will increase. This can result in the construction of more stadiums and improvement of the existing ones.
Kerala will host 9 IPL matches a year. The people of Kerala can get easy opportunity for watching these matches. People from different places will come to Kerala for seeing the match. This will increase the revenue of the state. IPL will a great boon for tourism and business in Kerala.

Recruitment in Territorial Army
The open recruitment rally for the GD post in Territorial Army will get conducted on March 29, 2010. The venue is Garuda Lines at Tiruchirappally. The opportunities are for applicants from Kerala, Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka can participate in this recruitment drive. The posting is temporary. The applicants must be currently employed. The applicants must report before 6 am at the recruitment center.
There are 20 posts vacant. The age of the applicants should be between 18-42. The salary is 7200. During the probation period, the salary is 5700.
The applicants should have a minimum of 160 cms height, 50 kgs of weight and chest width of 76-81 cms.
The minimum educational qualification is 10th standard pass with 45%. For applicants with higher educational qualification 45% is no bar.
