Vallarpadam Container Terminal will be complete by April 2010

The International transshipment terminal at vallarpadam will be launched commercially in the coming April. This was officially announced by the Dubai Port World who is conducting the construction of International terminal here. The construction works will be completed by the coming March. This was announced by DP world officials in a meeting with the port trust authorities. A meeting will be conducted on December 28 for evaluating the progress in construction. The meeting is scheduled because of the Global financial crisis and the new money lending schemes by the Dubai world.

The port has an investment of about 1600 crores.It is important to complete the project in the proposed time because of the huge sum involved. The port trust is anxious because the dredging process by DP world is showing less progress. This reduced the construction speed of the ship channel dredging conducted by the port trust. The DP world officials promised that the construction work will be completed by this March 31st. The DP world is planning to implement more efficient machineries for boosting up the speed of dredging in vallarpadam. The double lane road as well as the railway to valarpadam will get completed by March 31st. The ship channel costruction will also be completed by this date.

In order to set up the cranes in the vallarpadom terminal region the dredging process by the DP world need to get completed. The DP world official said that the financial crisis in Dubai region will not affect the vallarpadom terminal. The officials also said that the cranes also will be set within March 31st.

International Container Transshipment Terminal of Vallarpadam makes the great commercial city Cochin, Kerala, India world famous today. The major openings along with the establishment of Vallarpadam terminal are the Rs 1,600-crore LNG terminal, Petro chemical complex for Gas Authority of India (Rs 7,000-crore), International Ship Repair complex (Rs 315-crore),  the port-based Special Economic Zone (Rs 1,510-crore), SBM (single buoy moorings) for Kochi Refineries Ltd (Rs 720-crore), International bunkering terminal, International Marina, Bulk cargo terminals, Cruise ship terminals, etc. Mind you that these are only the major business going to take place in Vallarpadam in near future.
The face of Cochin will be altered soon. Numerable job placements will be created soon. Many can find new businesses on their own here in and near Vallarpadam. The life style of the people are going to change in near future.
The Indian National Highways are going to make new face of roads in Vallarpadam. A two lane National Highway fully equipped will come in Cochin before the commission of the Vallarpadam terminal. The Indian railway will connect itself to the terminal in a month. Though the main aim of the railway is for the goods train, there will also be some passenger trains as well since there will be so many people to travel to and fro Vallarpadam terminal daily.
Many of investors with crores of money are investing money in various field in and around Vallarpadam and Cochin. The trade of Cochin, Kottayam, Alappey, Trivandrum, Kollam, etc. will have a new life and development.
