Suburban Train Service
The proposed suburban rail service for Kerala connects all district centers of Kerala with Kochi, the Metro city of Kerala. As per the plans there will be train services to Cochin from various districts of Kerala with in an interval of 30 minutes. This suburban system is similar to the MEMU service. The suburban train services are good solution to the traffic congestion in our highways.
A suburban rail system will need supporting feeder bus services to reach out to all the residential and commercial areas. Such feeder services also need to be considered while implementing a suburban transport system. Also a seamless ticketing system, probably using smart cards…
