1. BARCAMP KERALA : Kevin Babu

The first session was an introduction to the BARCAMP KERALA. The session was taken Kevin Babu. The session gave a description about the Barcamp Kerala from the first Barcamp Kerala which took place on 2006. The session had funny slides paving a way for the newbies to understand what the Barcamp Kerala was really about. The new tag line for the Barcamp Kerala “Inspiration Guaranteed” suggested by Arun Basil Lal was also shared during the session.

2. 3D GRAPHICS PROGRAMMING : PRASEED PAI

He explained the basics of graphics . He said about the basics equations used for graphics designing. The designers of the csharks team had an upper hand in the question answer section. The complexity of the equations used for rendering the terrain was also discussed. It was a brilliant section for the core designer and the new comers.

3. Building Complex Website the Drupal Way : Fredrik Jonsson

The Drupal simplifies the making of complex websites. Drupal is having more features and this can be achieved with very less coding. The creation of the website becomes much simpler and it saves much time. More configuration and features are at our reach in drupal. The importance of following the open source way also came under the discussion. Examples of quickly developed websites as www.mapleleawebcom, labs.sonyericsson.com were analyzed in the presentation.

4. Media and Freedom-Kenney Jacob

The New age medias and their reach to people are discussed in this talk. Kenney Jacob analyzed the current system and their pioneers in the news paper industry reporting the news in a manner that favors their hidden agenda. The importance of bloggers as well as their their commitment towards the society is discussed. It was a discussion that led to some serious arguments among the participants

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION AND LUNCH BREAK

This was the time of celebration and enjoyment. The Christmas cake was and distributed. this added more color and joy to the camp. After the one hour lunch break, all gathered back for the after noon session.

5. Recycling Old Computers using LTSP-VU2SWX

The computer hardware is updating everyday. New and new models and configurations are introduced daily.Everyone likes to stay with an updated configuration.What happens to the old computer ?,How can it be utilized in a useful manner ?. This what discussed here. The older machines can be used as nodes along with a powerful server.The login screen will be available to all the nodes from the central machine as this concept. The server RAM will be shared by all the nodes.The P3 processors can be thus effectively utilized in a high end network.The  settings at the client and the server sides are discussed.This system is much effective for schools and offices. The major advantages are diskless clients and low cost .Some of the disadvantages are that , we have to get a costly and powerful server and the technical man power available is scarce .http://brainstorms.in and http://unixlab.blogspot.com discusses this topic in detail.

6.Innovation-”The UST Global Way”-Harikrishnan Nair

The importance of Barcamps and the relevance of knowledge sharing got discussed. The session covered how UST global was established and achieved its current glorious status. The success story of UST global has become a great motivation for the young innovators present in the Barcamp. UST global always welcomes the ideas. It was those ideas that led to the success of the company. The innovation engine in UST was discussed which have Eureka, the apple tree and open minds.

7. Multi Monitor Machines by Binny V A

This session was about connecting more than one monitors in a system. The advantages increase in productivity and better multitasking. The disadvantage is that its very distracting, extra investment is needed for graphics card and it will more resource. After the session Binny have given a open invitation for an open demonstration in his home.

8. Device management in modern Linux system by Unnikrishnan

Configuring hard is the important thing . the three application used for device management are Udev, HAL and Dbus.

The session was winded up by  a informal by kenney jacob, a  discussion about the existing condition for new startup in india. In that discussion the various company owners and wanabees presented the problems they faced while setting up their company.

The Principal  of the MACFAST college  Fr. Abraham Mulamoottil delivered the advice and message to all young innovators in the camp. The importance of being with the technology and its advancements got discussed in this session.A good idea established in a good way will always reach success is the advice provided by him.He shared his experiences in various countries and the attitude of various people and establishments there.He also mentioned his latest initiative of the 90.4 Mhz FM Macfast FM Radio.

The next Barcamp got scheduled at MACFAST.The session winded up at 6.15 pm.
