The 56^th National film awards were announced yesterday. The award declaration was not able to satisfy the film lovers of Kerala. They were having great expectations. The only awards Malayalam movies got are the special jury award for Bioscope and Best Malayalam film Thirakadha.Renjith is awarded the director of best Malayalam Film .Pramod J Thomas got award for best sound editing and Sreekar Prasad for the best picture editing .Both of them are natives of Kerala.

The best feature film award goes to the Bengali movie Antaheen. The best male and female actor award does to Upendra Limaye and Priyanka Chopra. Bala is awarded as the best director for the movie Naan Kadavul.

The award presentation function will be held on March. The awards will be presented by President Pratibha Patil.
