Messi elected as the Footballer of the year 2009
The football legend of Argentina and Barcelona Lionel Messi is elected as the footballer of the year by fifa. This is the third award for Messi this year. He has got the European club footballer award and also he was elected as the footballer of the year by a French magazine. He is the first Argentinean to receive the European footballer award. Lionel Messi is of 22 years old. It is the tricks of Messi which barely made Argentina through the world cup qualifiers. The second position goes to Christiano Ronaldo of Portugal and the best woman player award went to Marta. This is the fourth time the award goes to Marta in a row.
