New version of Maruti Swift Dzire to be shorter and cheaper by almost Rs. 40000

Suzuki has decided to reduce the length of their most successful entry level sedan. The current version of Dzire is 4160mm in length which had resulted in higher excise duty of 22%. Maruthi can reduce the excise duty by11% and the price of the vehicle considerably if it is in less than 4meter in length. Hard-boiled competition is said to be the reason of this movement. At least Rs.40000 reduction is expected in the upcoming version. The recent success of Tata motors inspired Maruti to take this decision. Mahindra and Mahindra is also planning to launch a smaller version of Xylo. A shorter version Logan may as well hit the market by next year. The latest entry of Toyota Etios futher tightened competition.
Maruti, however, has to face several challenges. The reduction in length will adversely reflect in legroom and boot space which are the main attractions. The price of the current petrol version starts from Rs. 5 lakh. The price of the diesel variant begins from Rs.59000.
The research & development team is working on reducing the length of the car and this will bring a big change & it will surely be said as a head turner with mind blowing style, design, technology and power attached to it.
