The Maramon Convention 2010 started in the shores or river Pampa. This is the 115^th Maramon convention. Maramon convention is the Asia’s biggest Christian gathering. The convention was inaugurated by Arch Bishop Rev Dr. Joseph Marthoma.

The convention this time gives much importance to the protection of environment. In the conventions talks were held regarding the abnormal climatic changes and global warming. Each and every person is having the responsibility to preserve the nature.

The participants of Maramon convention will take part in Kerala Government’s tree planting project. People are asked to keep the river Pampa and the surroundings of the Maramon convention clean. The distribution of about 1 lakh saplings is done by Kerala Forest minister Binoy Vishwam.
