Loud Speaker – a review
Malayalam Film Loud Speaker
The Malayalam film Loud Speaker could be regarded as the best, interesting and fastest award movie. I went for the movie Loud Speaker with a prejudiced mind that it is a so called slow award movie. As the movie was beginning the names of the technicians were showed in a sliding show with a light slow music. The each sliding was slower than the usual movies in good greenery behind. The very low speed of the slide show made it clear that it was really an award movie. Even when the movie was started I was of the same opinion.
Since when the hero of the film Loud Speaker, Mammootty appeared on the screen the movie came in to the natural flow. It turned to be faster. It became a real comic movie with the arrival of Jagathy Sreekumar, Harisree Asokan and Suraaj Venjaramoodu. Each of these comedy artists did their roles with great perfection. Thus, the award film turned out to be a comic thriller. On the other hand Loud Speaker is an award film too.
The green color based scenes are praise worthy. The main color theme of the movie was green. It gives a special coolness to the eyes of the viewers. The remixed old song with new greenly visuals give a special treat to us. It is a new manner of great movies of Malayalam film industry.
Harisree Asokan in Loud Speaker as a priest has a major comic role. He refreshes us with his comedy scenes of Loud Speaker. The roles of Suraaj and Jagathy are also of the same. But the role of Jagathy is not up to the mark as his role is something that he usually does – a role of a husband without the backbone.
The fact that the Loud Speaker hero Mammootty does not have any affair with the heroine makes the movie very attractive. It is a usual act that many of the actors have an affair at least in a flash back story. Here differs Loud Speaker from the usual concept of movie. The youthful character of the hero is really a matured villager. He does not have the weaknesses of the youngsters, except that he is a chain smoker.
The action sequence of the movie Loud Speaker is not up to the mark as the others give way to the Loud Speaker hero to demolish the strangers. But with all the other positives Loud Speaker is the best movie of the year 2009. Loud Speaker should be awarded the best movie 2009 award.
