How to add name in Voters List

The Election Commission of India released guidelines to add names in voters list for legislative assembly in Kerala. The age will be calculated on date January 1, 2011. Indian citizens who has not yet added their names and  completing 18 years of age on or before  January 1, 2011 can add their names in the new voters list. There will be also options to make corrections in the existing voters list. Updates regarding the new place of residence etc can also be made.

The Sample voters list is published November 4, 2010. This list is available in the website www.ceo.kerala.gov.in. The list is also available at District Collectorate, Taluk Offices and Village Offices.

The corrections needed must be made before November 21, 2010. Applications forms are to be submitted regarding this. The applications forms are available in respective village and Taluk Offices.

Special facilities and campaigns will be organized on dates 13,14,20 and 21st of November 2010 at your regular polling booths for submitting the application forms. This facility is from 9 am to 5 pm on respective days,

Separate forms are there for each modification in voters list as given below:

Form No:6- For newly adding a name, To shift the existing name to another legislature
Form No:7- For the removal of names from the list
Form No: 8- For the correction of mistakes in the voters list
Form No: 8(A)-For shifting the name fro one booth to another of the same legislature

These application forms are available at free of cost at Taluk and Village Offices on all days. It will be also available at the regular polling stations on dates  13,14,20 and 21st of November 2010  from 9 am to 5 pm.

    It is very difficult add names in the voters at present. It is shame to publish that APPLICATION FORM IS AT FREE OF COST in this world’s largest democracy. One has to appear before officers several times and he has taxes/fines: whatever he says. This system is note suitable for country like india. Why you are not following old system: that made India largest democracy in the world. Why govt. employees are not visiting houses for updating the list?
