Great loss of Malayalam Film Industry
(02-02-2010)Famous Malayalam actor and director Cochin Haneefa passed away at 3.30 pm today. He was hospitalized for liver disease at Sreeramachandra Medical College in Chennai. Earlier at about 11 am, news spread that he was dead. He was at ventilator that time. He passed from the world of his fans and admirers. The whole world was praying for his recovery at that time.
He has done about 300 movies in various South Indian languages. Among this about 80 movies is from Tamil. He also acted in Hindi. He also proved as a good director. He had done many projects with film giants like Kamal Hassan, Karunanidi, M.G.R etc. He done distinct villain roles first and later proved as a comedy actor. He had won a great position in the mind of all Malayali’s families.
Cochin Haneefa was born on April 22,1951. He first proved in skits and mono acts in colleges.He also acted in several dramas. He joined the Cochin Kalabhavan this time. He entered film industry in the year 1979. His first movie is Ashtavakran. His last movie released in Malayalam is Bodyguard and in Tamil is Vetekaran of Vijay.He got the award for best co actor for Sootradharan in 2001.
Oru Sandesham koodi, Moonumasangalku munpu,Valsalyam,Bheeshmacharya,Veena meetiya vilangukal,Aankiliyude tarattu, Oru sindoora poovinte ormakku are the Malayalam movies directed by him.
His body is now at Sreeramachandra Medical college. Tamil Nadu chief minister kalaignar karunanidhi will visit the hosipital by around 8pm today. Kamalhassan visited him just before his death. His body will be brought to Kerala at the earliest by special flight.
