Mobile Payment solution from Axis bank

Axis bank introduced payment solution through mobile phone involving the debit card. Axis bank is pioneer in India to introduce such an option. The Mobile Payment Solution is implemented using the interactive voice response system (IVRS). The system is branded as Axis call and pay. The system is developed by Atom technologies which is the retail wing of Financial Technologies group.

In order to activate the mobile payment solution, the mobile number has to be configured with the debit card. This can be done at the ATM counter using the interactive system. After the configuration a 6 digit pin can be set and activated. This new system can surely increase the mobility of people. It will surely increase the convenience and make transactions much

Railway minister Mamata Banerjie is now presenting the Railway Budget 2010 in Parliament. The important programs and plans in this budget are

No privatization of Indian Railway.

More employment in railway for sports personals

House for all railway employees within one year

All Railway exams can be written in regional languages too

5 Railway sports academies will be established

CRPF officials will be employed for the safety of passengers

More safety will be ensured to woman passengers.A special section called “Mahilavahini” will be started

Special trains to aid the common wealth games

50 day care centers for the children of railway officials

93 Multipurpose complexes will be established

No forceful acquisition of land

101 new hospitals

1000 km new rail will be constructed each year

All railway exams will be conducted on the same day for all sections of railway

Kerala’s Expectations on Railway Budget

Kerala government and people are expecting a lot from the Railway Budget. The budget will be much favorable to the train lovers of the state. Railway is always the most efficient and economical mode of transportation in India .Some major expectations in railway budget are discussed below

Fund will be allocated for doubling Ernakulum-Kottayam-Kayamkulum line within 2 years.

Sanction and fund for the doubling of Ernakulum- Alleppey-Ambalapuza line.

Fund for the completion of Guruvayor- Thiruvaya line within 2 years.

Sanction for the new lines such as Nilambur-Nangancode, Edapally-Guruvayor, Chengannur-Trivandrum and Talasherry-Mysore.

Fund for gauge change in Poolachi-Palaghat within one year.

Fund for the electrification of Shoranur- Mangalore line within two years.

The new trains expected are:

Daily superfast train from Bangalore to Trivandrum

Daily superfast train from Mumbai to Trivandrum via Konkan

Mangalore- Houra daily train

Daily Janashadabthi to Trivandrum from Calicut.

Hourly memu services between Coimbatore- Ernakulum, Kayakulum – Ernakulum

Diesel multiple unit train between Shoranur and Mangalore.

The running of Amrita express as Kannur intercity in daytime.

The extension of Kannur- Alleppy express up to Trivandrum.

The extension of Yashwantpur- Kannur express via Mangalore up to Guruvayoor.

The train services which are expected to change into daily trips are:

Yashwantpur-Kannur via Palakkad.

Kochuveli Lokmaniathilak Garib Rath .

Kochuveli-Yashwanthpur Garib Rath.

Nizzamuddin Rajadhani

Nagarcoil- Mangalore Eranad

Other expectations of Kerala in the railway budget 2010 are the fund for Kanjikode railway factory, fund for establishing memu repair unit at Palaghat and Kollam, fund for updating stations of Trivandrum, Ernakulum and Calicut into International standards, Fund for updations at Kochuveli and Nemam terminal and swith over to automatic signaling system.

Union Minister of State E Ahamad said that Kerala will be having a lot of fund and allocations in this budget.

Kerala is expecting pit lane at Kannur railway station. The railway had already given technical sanction for this. Kerala people and Government expects that the fund ill be sanctioned in this budget. The pit lanes will facilitate the common and general repair of the train in the station itself.

Kerala Budget 2010

Shivarathri

Shivarathri is the festival celebrated by the devotees of Lord Shiva. It is the night at which Lord Shiva performed Tandava. The devotes will fast the whole day and keep vigil in the night. It is the time when the people make lot of offerings. The chief ceremonies of the fest take place at night. It is believed as the day on which Lord Shiva married Parvathy. During the fest of Shivarathri the pilgrims offer ritual to their ancestors.

Temples in Kerala are made ready for the Shivarathri fest of tomorrow. Among the 1028 temples of Travancore Devasom Board 290 are temples of Lord Shiva. Arrangements to witness the holy Shivarathri are made in these Temples. Aluva is also made ready for Shivarathri. The Shore of the Aluva river is made ready with the arrangements for the homage ceremony. 230 “balithara” are made for the ritual.

Fuel Price hike soon

Very soon there will a price hike of Rs 3 for petrol and diesel. There will a hike of 100 Rs for LPG and 6Rs for Kerosene. The new prices will be implemented soon. It is based on the studies and report submitted by Kirith Parekh committee. The committee also suggests to take away the governments price control in the case of petrol and diesel. The report is submitted to Petroleum minister Murali Devra. The report will be send for the approval of central ministry within 10 days.

SAF Games 2010

The 11th South Asian games will start today (29-01-2010) at Bangladesh. The inaugural ceremony is at 4.00 pm today. The inauguration will be done by Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hassina. The SAF games comprises of 23 competitive events in which about 1500 athletes are participating. SAF games 2010 have participants from India, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Maldives, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal. Last SAF games were conducted at Colombo. India secured first position in last SAF games with more than 200 points. This time India is not planning to participate in cricket competition here. In this 11th edition of SAF games 20-20 cricket is also included
