Miss Queen of India 2011

The Miss Queen of India 2011 will be held at 6.30 pm tomorrow.  The  venue will be the Golden Palms Resorts, Bangalore .The main sponsors of this event is Manappuram group of companies who are doing business across twenty states in India. There will be total of sixteen participants from four zones across India. The finalists from south zone are Nikitha Narayan, Aishwarya Muralidharan, Divya.M.S and Denzilina Brown. Among them Aishwarya Muralidharan is the only one from Kerala. The finalists from north zone are Rupa Khurana,  Aakrithi Goyal, Romika Bhatt and Mahima Bhakshi. The finalists from  east zone are Sneha Chattopadhyay, Saba Khan, Ranjana Mishra and Sriya and Smitha Chootray. The finalists from west zone are Bhawna Ahuja, Pooja Bhamrah, Surabhi rao and Abhiruchi Sharma. The grooming sessions was done at Ramada Resorts Cochin. There will be four sequences for this event. Apart from the main title there will be ten titles which are Miss Beautiful Eyes, Miss Beautiful Face, Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Beautiful Hair, Miss Photogenic, Miss Beautiful Skin, Miss Congeniality, Miss Talented, Miss Cat Walk, and Miss Perfect 10. The judges for this event are Miss World Runner up Ms Parvathy Oomanakuttan, IPL Cochin team co-owner Vivek Venugopal, Actress Simer Mottiani, Fashion Designer Sajimon Parayil, Vijaya Babu and Ms Thoshma Biju.

Latest Updates:  Pooja Bhamrah from Mumbai is been selected as the Miss Queen of India 2011. She will also get a cash price of Rs 1,00000 . Keralas  Aishwarya Muralidharan is been selected as the first runner up and will price money of Rs 50,000. Saba Khan from Jemshedpur got the second runner up and get a cash price of Rs 35,000.

Kochi Ipl Team will change its Name and Logo

kochi ipl team re-nameAfter the strong protests from the fans through social media, kochi ipl team is finally changing its  name ‘Indi Commandos Kerala’ and its logo as said by Mr  Vivek Venugopal  the co-owner and only Keralite  in the kochi ipl team franchise. The new name  will be  selected from online voting from the fans .The 24 hour voting  will  start  at 10 am today . The name will be consisting of two parts, the first part consisting of two options ‘Kerala’ or ‘Kochi’ and the second part consists of five options which are ‘Commandos’ or ‘Tuskers’ or  ‘Tigers’ or ‘Heroes’ or  ‘United’ or ‘Titans’.The combinations will be like ‘Kerala Commandos’ or Kochi Commandos’ or ‘Kerala Tuskers’ or ‘Kochi Tuskers’ or ‘Kerala Tigers’ or ‘Kochi Tigers’ or ‘Kerala Heroes’ or ‘Kochi Heoroes’ or ‘Kerala United’ or ‘Kochi United’ or ‘Kerala Titans’ or ‘Kochi Titans’.The options which will get most number of votes will be selected as the name.   The online voting will be on the teams official site www.kochiteam.com. As said by Mr  Vivek Venugopal the logo be decided according to the name.

Kerala Assembly Elections 2011 Dates Announced

Election Commission today announced the Election date 2011 for 5 states including Kerala and Bengal Legislative Assembly.  In Kerala the Election will be in single phase. But in Bengal, its in six phases. The Kerala election will be on April 13 and the results will be announce on May 13. The Election dates of West Bengal are April 18, 23, 27, May 1, 7 and 10.  The election date of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will be on April 13. The election dates of Assam will be in 2 phases and they are April and 11. The results will be announced on May 13 for all these states.

The term of Legislative Assembly of Kerala will be expires on 23-05-2011. The total number of Assembly Constituencies of Kerala are 140, out of them 14 seats are reserved for SC and 2 seats are reserved for ST. The Electoral rolls of all the existing Assembly Constituencies of Kerala are  revised and as per the final rolls, the number of electors are 2,29,40,408.

This is the 1st time that NRI Voters have been enabled to be enrolled as voters and would be able to vote in person.

Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh will inaugurate the largest single operator container terminal in the country the Vallarpadam Container terminal. It was Manmohan Singh himself who had laid the foundation stone in 2005. The new port will be privately operated by the Dubai port world. It is the first port the country to operate in a SEZ.
VallarPadam terminal will make Kochi a key place in the shipping world and it will  reduce  India’s dependency on foreign ports, over forty to forty five percentage of  India’s containerized cargo is trans-shipped through Singapore, Dubai or Colombo.
The Dubai Port World is granted a 38-year contract for the  management and exclusive operation. The port costs more than 3,000 corers and is expected to bring this money back through Shipping. The terminal is able to handle large container vessels and can

handle 1m twenty-feet containers a year.

Vallarpadam will be completed in 3 phases. 1: 600m quay and a water-depth greater than 15 m(this phase is complete). 2:Capacity will be increased to 1.5 million Twenty Feet Equivalent Units. Once fully operational the capacity will increase to  5.5 million.

Dr. Manmohan Singh will inaugurate the port in February 10. After that he will will go to Trivandrum on a special flight. At4 pm he

willat the Gov. woman’s college. Next he will go and inaugurate the Kerala Vikasana Congress organized by KPCC.

The Malayalam poet  and  lyricist, who had  received the  Jnanpith Award in 2007 and Padma Shri in 1988  is receiving the Padma Vibhushan this year.
His major works include  Daahikkunna Paanapaathram (1956), Mayilpeeli (1964), Agnishalabhangal (1971), Aksharam (1974), Karutha Pakshiyude Paattu (1977), Uppu (1980), Thonnyaaksharangal (1989), Bhoomikk Oru Charama Geetham (1984) and Ujjayini (1994).

How to apply shares in Kannur International Airport?

Price of one share – Rs: 100

Kannur Airport photos The initial application should be written in a white paper. No other special applications forms are there. The applicant should buy a minimum of 2001 shares of face value of Rs: 100. An individual or an institution can apply.

Need to give only 25% of the share value with the application. This amount can be taken as a Demand Draft (DD) in the name of Kannur International Airport Ltd. which can be change at Thiruvananthapuram. This DD should be submit with the application. Pan number should be must with the application. A photocopy of the pan card is also needed with the application. If some one don’t have the Pan number, they should fill the form 60 and submit which will be available from the banks. The remaining 75% amount should be paid at the time of shares will be allotted.

The address to which the application with DD should be send to : Kannur International Airport Ltd., Parvathy, TC 36/1,  NH bypass, Chaaka, Thiruvananthapuram – 695054.
