Akkarakazchakal on Big Screen

The super hit television serial Akkarakazchakal directed by Aby Vargeese on Kairali Tv is now coming to Big screen. The pooja of the movie  got held at Sitar palace in Orange burg. This will be a film totally made by Non Resident Indians. The moive cast include several fresh faces too. Aby Vargheese and Ajayan Venugopal are the directors of this new venture.

Kairali Tv started to telecast Akkarakazchakal 2 years before.It is the story of George Thekkumootil and his family settled in Newyork. The major characters of this serial are George and his wife, his children Mataikutty and Chaki, George’s father and Gregory who is a laughing stock. The serial became a great hit among the Keralities all around the world. In the American countries even the native friends of Malayalees are watching this serial. Akkarakazchakal brings before us the real problems and issues faced by NRI’s in their work place as well as in their home land. The basic theme is comedy, but the subjects handled are much beyond that.

Bom TV group, the providers of Malaylam TV channels via internet on television sets abroad are the producers of this new movie. The Screen play is by Ajayan Venugopal, Cinematography by Hyder Bilgramy, Editing by Nebu Epen, Music by Keedar Kumar.

Endhiran Release Theatres in Kerala

The Indian release of the Superstar Rajanikanth movie Endhiran is on today. The movie got screened in gulf region yesterday in housefull audiences. In Kerala, Endhiran releases in 128 theatres. It is the Seven Arts International release, bringing Endhiran here. The list is given below

National Film Awards

National awards for the year 2009 will get declared today ( 15-09-10). The official declaration will be at 4.pm.Ramesh Sippy is the chairman of the 13 member Jury committee. Director Hariharan and Documentary director M.R Rajan are the committee members from Kerala. It is assumed that  Amithab Bachan and Mammooty are there in last round competition.

Mammotty is having the advantage of his masterpiece roles in Kuttisarnk, Pazzashi Raja, Palerimanikyam, Pattamnilayile Teevandi etc. Amitabh Bachan is considered for his performance in Paa.

The movies considered in the final round include Paa directed by Balki, Dev D by Anuraj Kapish, 3 idiots of Raj Kumar Hirani. These films are noted for their distinct screenplay, direction.

The Tamil movies considered include Passanga , 13 B and Bommalattam. Music directors considered are A.R Rahman for Delhi 6, Shankar Ehsaan Loy for My Name is Khan, Issac Thomas Kottukapally for Kuttisrank.

The cinematographers considered are P.C Shriram for Paa, Anjali Shukla for Kuttisrank and Rajiv Ravi for Dev D

Makeup Man

Makeup Man is the Jayaram movie by Shafi under the banner of Rajaputra Visual Media.  M. Renjith is the producer for this film. Makeup Man tells the story of an M.B.A Graduate Makeup man of film industry. Jayaram and Sheela comes in the lead roles. The other cast of Makeup Man include Prithivraj, Kunchacko Boban, Siddique, Jagathy Sreekumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Janardhanan, Salimkumar, Shammi Thilakan, Chali Pala, Saiju Kurup, Poojapura Radhakrishnan, Kalpana etc. The blend of Jayaram and Prithivraj will be a great treat to audience. There will be a second heroine too in the movie. The movie locations include Kerala as well as Singapore.  The main attraction of this movie is Jayaram’s costume as a makeup man. He looks really different with comb and mirror fixed in waist band, makeup bag and umbrella.

The screenplay is from Sachi Sethu.  Lyrics are by Kaitaparam and Music by Vidya Sagar. Cinematography is Azagappan and Editing by V. Sajan.

Homage to Venu Nagavally

Venu Nagavally, the film maker and actor passed away on Thursday morning at Trivandrum. He was hospitalized for liver and stomach diseases.

He was a multi talented personality of Malayalam film industry. He has made distinct works as an actor, director, script writer and singer. His entry to film industry was as a singer. Venu Nagavalli’s first notable role was in K.S George’s “Ulkadal” in 1979.

Venu Nagavalli was born on 16 April 1946 as the son of Nagavally R.S Kurup and Rajamma. During the first years of his film career, Venu symbolized the attitude and appearance of the desperate youth of the time.  His great works as an actor include “Shalini Ente Kootukari”, “Yavanika”, “Chillu”, “Lekhayude Maranam oru Flashback”, “Meenamasathe Sooryan”, “Aadaminte Variyellu”, “Devadas” etc.

His screenplay works include “Ee Ganam Marakumo”, “Gayathri Devi Ente Amma”, “Guruji Oru Vakku”, “Artham”, “Aham”, “Kilukkam”, “ Vishnu” etc.

“Sukhamo Devi”, “Sarvakalashala”, “Ayitham”, “Aey Auto”, “Lal Salam”, “Swagatham”, “Kizhakunaum Pakshi”, “Kalipattam”, “Aayirapara”, “Rakthasahikal Sindabad”, “Bharya Swantam Suhruthu” etc.

His funeral was held at Thycaud Shantikavadam. One more great loss of the year 2010 for Keralites.

Ramzan Releases 2010

Ramzan 2010 will be the beginning of a new era in Malayalam film industry. Movie lovers can wacth in this season 3 super star movies along with one super director movie. The Ramzan 2010 releases are Shikkar of Mohanlal, Vande Mataram, Pranchiyettan & the Saint of Mammootty and Elsamma Enna Aankutty by Lal Jos.

Shikkar will get released tomorrow ( 09-09-2010) and the other 3 movies on 10th of this month.

Shikkar will be released in 101 theatres by Maxlab. Mammooty’s Play house brings Pranjiyettan and Vande Mataram through Time Ads.

Elsamma Enna Aankutty is made distinct with challenging role performed by the new heroine Ann Augustine.

Vande Mataram

Vande Mataram is a bilingual action thriller starring Mammooty and Arjun. It is the story of two police officers and their hunt for terrorists. Sneha is the heroine in Vande Mataram. The other roles of Vande Mataram cast include Rajan. P. Dev, Vijay Kumar, Raj Kapoor, Riyaz Khan, Jai Akash, Jagadish, Mumtaj etc. The camera is by Vetty and Rajesh Yadav. Vade Mataram is directed by T. Aravind and produced by Henry. The music is done by Vidya Sagar. Around Rs  14 crore is spend for the making of this multistar project.  The movie will be released on September 10, 2010.
