Kerala State Film Awards 2009

The Kerala state film awards were declared today (06-04-2010). The best film of the year award goes to “Palerimanikyam Oru Patira Kolapatakatinte Kadha”. The best actor and actress of the year are Mammotty and Shewtha Menon respectively for their performance in the movie “Palerimanikyam Oru Patira Kolapatakatinte Kadha. This movie had won totally 8 state awards.

The second best film award goes to the movie “Ramayam”. The 2nd best actor and actress awards are secured by Manoj .K. Jayan  and Padmapriya respectively for their performance in “Kerala Varma Pazashi Raja”.

The best children’s film is “Keshu” directed by Shivan. The best male and female voice awards goes to Dr.K.J. Yesudas and Shreya Ghosal. The songs are from movies “Madyavenal” and “Banaras” respectively.

The best director is Hariharan for the movie “Kerala Varma Pazashi Raja”. The award for the best new director award goes to P.Sukumar for the movie “Swa.Le”. The best Screen play is by M.T Vasudevan Nair for the movie in “Kerala Varma Pazashi Raja”.

The best music director award goes to Mohan Sithara for the movie “Soofi Paranja Kadha”. Rafeeq Ahamed won the best lyricist award for the movie “Soofi Paranja Kadha”. 

The best comedian award goes to Suraj Venjarammoodu and Jagathy Sreekumar secured special Jury prize for his outstanding performance in the movie “Ramayam”. Shoby Thilakan got the best dubbing artist award. Baby Nivethita is the best Child artist. She is elected for her performance in the movie “Bharmaram”. “Evida Swargamanu” of Roshan Andrews got the award of people favorite movie. “Ezuthatha Kadakal “ is best documentary of the year.

The Fourth  session web penetration in Kerala -Status report and Forcast by Aravind Jose T.It is a presentation and study of the Internet usage in in Kerala

The fifth session is about the practice of “No Negative Day” which is the quitting of negative things in life for one day in a month. This day is observed in 24th of every month

The sixth session is Y Perl by Alan Haggai Alavi which informed us the relevance of the usage of Perl language which is simple and versatile. The talk discussed from the history to the recent developments in Perl. The talk discussed with the various communities of Perl such as Perl Monks etc and various softwares developed in Perl and various interfaces used

We all had the lunch at the Cafeteria of MACFAST. The lunch session provided the opportunity for informal discussions and talks. During the time, everyone had made new and new contacts.

Rev. Dr. Abraham Mulamoottil, the principal of MACFAST discussed with the attendees his plans of incubating IT firms in the college by next year. A very innovative and welcomed idea in the time of this next IT boom.

The first session in the afternoon is about starting an Entrepreneurship by Adv. Ivin Gancius. The session gave all the attendees an overall idea about starting a firm and the various types of firms. The talk also discussed the aspects on taxation, registrations, trademarks, patents etc

The second session of the afternoon is by Kenney Jacob which is a discussion about various systems of marriages in the current society and in history. A very hot discussion and almost all participants got involved.

A very different session in the whole history of Kerala Barcamp

The 3rd session in the afternoon is about TATA Jagriti Yatra by Niju Mohan who was a participant of this Journey. He shared his experience of the journey with the photographs and videos too

The fourth session of the afternoon is about Network security by Reni Yohannan who is an MBA student from MACFAST. The session discussed the various kinds of security attacks and precuation measures.

The fifth session in the afternoon is Social Media Recruitment by Ajith Sam John. The session is a talk about the recruitment made by companies through the social networking websites. The session reminded the attendees about the importance of updating ones profile in these websites and the concept of keeping the profile “clean”

The sixth session in the afternoon is by Arun Basil Lal who discussed about using of wordpress in creating the website

We all have nice tea and banana roast in between. The tea session is an oppurtunity for informal talks and discussions on various social issues.

Rev. Dr. Abraham Mulamoottil Principal of MACFAST shared his experiences when he was a student abroad and about the development period of computer technology in those days.
The first session after the tea break is eNGO Product Launch by Binny V A. He discussed about the concept of Make a difference. The program is an attempt to provide free English and technology training for under privileged children
The next session is a video presentation of our host MACFAST, the presentation introduced before us the facilities and specialties of MACFAST.

The barcamp wound up by around 5:55 pm.

In Ghost House Inn releases tomorrow

The 3rd part of the In Hariharnagar hits the silver screen tomorrow (25-03-2010). The evergreen youths of Kerala Mahadevan, Appukuttan, Govindankutty and Appukuttan are coming once more to light the crackers of comedy. This time the movie is packed with some traces of horror too.

Army Training for Lt.Col Mohanlal

Lt. Col Mohanlal will undergo 3 days training at 112 Infantry Battalion of Territorial army in Kannur from March 25, 2010 onwards. This is for the first time Mohanlal is visiting the Army Centre after achieving the rank of Lieutenant colonel.

Mohanlal need to undergo hard and strict military training of 3 days. The training includes weapon practice, special war training for day and night etc. The training will start after special prayer ceremony at the temple in Army centre. Mohanlal will also participate in the march past conducted on 27th from Kottamaithanam ground. Various Territorial Army Officers who had done services in various parts of the nation will be honored in the ceremony held after the march past. This training is intended to make Lt. Col Mohanlal to a Complete army officer for the Territorial army.

Kerala got the 10th IPL Team

The owner of Kerala IPL Team is a consortium of 5 Business Groups. Shailendra Gaikwad of Rondevu group is the main owner. The sources also said that the Business Man Vivek Venugopal is also the co-owner of Kerala IPL Team. The other members for the consortium of Kerala IPL Team are Parini Development Project Anger Earth, Anand Shah Developers and Filim Waves. The cost of Kerala IPL Team is 1533 crores. The team bid with the name kerala consortium. Central Minister of states, Sashi Tharoor is one of the person who is behind the Kerala IPL team and very much supported for the Kerala IPL team. Kerala IPL team will debut on 2011 IPL.

7 groups came for the bid. Sahara Group won the bid for Pune Group with a total cost of Rs:1702 crores.

Jagadeesh in the role of a Director

The ever youth super comedian of Malayalam film industry is now in the serious role of a director. Jagadeesh is the director of Amar Akbar Antony starring Mammooty. Mammooty comes in the role of an IT Genius. The movie features 3 different styles and mannerisms of superstar Mammooty. The story, screen play and dialogues of the movie are also from Jagadeesh. The producer is Ajayachandran Nair.

 

Another Malayalam movie of Sarath Kumar

After the very successful role of “Kunkan” in “Pazashiraja”, superstar Sarath Kumar of Tamil cinema comes for another venture in Malayalam. This time he is in the role of a wild life photographer for the movie “Oridathoru Postman”. The director is Shaji Azis.” Oridathoru Postman” is the movie from Shaji Azis after “Shakespeare MA Malayalayam”. Sharat kumar is also there with the project of “Christian Brothers”.

“Oridathoru Postman” narrates the story of a lazy father and his hardworking son. Kunchako Boban is the hero. The screen play is by K. Girish Kumar.
