India’s Premier Travel and Tourism Exhibition

An Exhibition and seminars will be conducted at cochin organized by IITM (India International Travel Mart). The exhibition is on 19th to 21st February 2010. The venue is at Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium Kadavanthara, Cochin. The time is from 11 a.m to 7.30 p.m

The exhibition is for the promotion of tourism and the business related with the field of travel and tourism. This will be a great opportunity to meet participants from India and abroad. The exhibition is also a venue for creating new relationships and contacts among the players in tourism field.

Manorama Parpidam Exhibition

The exhibition named as “paripadm” that deals whole about creating and maintaining a home begins on February 19,2010. The exhibition is for 3 days. The venue of Parpidam is at Mamman Mappila Hall, Kottayam. This is the largest of the kind in South India. The exhibition ensures the presence of all brands involved in the construction of a house. The exhibition will be a good guidance for those who are constructing their home. It will also be a great boon to everyone who wishes to keep their house well maintained according to the current trend.

The exhibition includes the stalls of modern and traditional furniture, modular kitchens, electrical and electronic appliances, sanitary equipments, house hold wiring accessories, paints, tiles and other flooring trends. Builders of various flat and villa projects are also participating in Parpidam exhibition. Seminars regarding Vastu and Feng Shui etc are also included in the exhibition hall. The time is from 10 am to 7.30 pm. The entry is free for the exhibition as well as seminars.

 

Maramon Convention 2010

The Maramon Convention 2010 started in the shores or river Pampa. This is the 115th Maramon convention. Maramon convention is the Asia’s biggest Christian gathering. The convention was inaugurated by Arch Bishop Rev Dr. Joseph Marthoma.

The convention this time gives much importance to the protection of environment. In the conventions talks were held regarding the abnormal climatic changes and global warming. Each and every person is having the responsibility to preserve the nature.

The participants of Maramon convention will take part in Kerala Government’s tree planting project. People are asked to keep the river Pampa and the surroundings of the Maramon convention clean. The distribution of about 1 lakh saplings is done by Kerala Forest minister Binoy Vishwam.

Vanitha Nippon paints film fare awards

Vanitha Nippon paints film fare awards declared. The best actor award goes to superstar Dr.Mammotty and best actress award is for Padmapriya. Universal star Lt.Col. Padmashri Mohanlal is elected as the People’s favorite actor. Lifetime achievement award is declared for Madhu.

The best supporting actor and actress award goes to Sharathkumar and Shewta Menon. Ranjith is the best director and James Albert,the best script writer. Jagathy Sreekumar is the best Villain and Suraj Venjarammud,the best comedian.Yeshudas and Chitra are elected as the best male and female singers.The award for best lyricist is for Vayalar Sharath and music director goes to Vidyasagar. The song “Anuragavilochalayai” from Neelathamara is elected as the people’s favorite song. The best new face award goes to Kailesh and Reema Kallingal. Ajayan Vincent is elected as the best cameraman.

The awards are declared based on peoples voting. The award distribution function will be held at Bristo ground in Wellington Island on February 20,2010.

Shivarathri

Shivarathri is the festival celebrated by the devotees of Lord Shiva. It is the night at which Lord Shiva performed Tandava. The devotes will fast the whole day and keep vigil in the night. It is the time when the people make lot of offerings. The chief ceremonies of the fest take place at night. It is believed as the day on which Lord Shiva married Parvathy. During the fest of Shivarathri the pilgrims offer ritual to their ancestors.

Temples in Kerala are made ready for the Shivarathri fest of tomorrow. Among the 1028 temples of Travancore Devasom Board 290 are temples of Lord Shiva. Arrangements to witness the holy Shivarathri are made in these Temples. Aluva is also made ready for Shivarathri. The Shore of the Aluva river is made ready with the arrangements for the homage ceremony. 230 “balithara” are made for the ritual.

Karshakashri Karshikamela 2010

The largest farm fest of Kerala conducted by Malayala manorama begins today. The venue of the fest is at Illahiya public school ground Muvattupuzha. The fest is inaugurated by Babu Paul MLA and the lamp is lighted by Minister of state Prof.K.V. Thomas. The Karshakashri award for the best farmer will be awarded to Sunny George during this fest. The award ceremony is on February 12, 2010.The award will be given to Sunny George by the Governor of Maharashtra K.Shankaranarayanam.

The farm fest has about 100 informative stalls of different products including the farm products. Seminars will be taken by experts during the fest. The fest is fully loaded with several events for the people who like farming. The fest also includes the exhibition of rare plants, flowers, paintings and birds. Cultural events including magic show and music fest will be held at evening. The Karshikamela 2010 includes grand events because this is the 10th fest of the kind.

Google Earth Mapping Symposium at Trivandrum

Google earth mapping symposium will be conducted today at Trivandrum. The state intelligence department has given alert notification against this symposium. The Government of Kerala warned the survey department not to participate in the symposium. Disagreeing sounds were heard from several other countries such as South Korea and Australia too against the program. Google will give the training for 100 people in this symposium.
