The world coconut day has been celebrated every year with different programs. These programs and the day celebrations are intended to improve the importance of coconut in our day to day lives. In this developing world, we are filling our lives with modern products and modernization. Some years before was it started that we recognized the vast opportunities that the natural resources of our own land offered us. Among them the most prominent one was the coconut farming. As every part of the tree was useful and was widely grown all over the state it soon gained importance. The tree of Kerala from which the state is said to have acquired it’s name was slowly regaining it’s lost life. The ‘ilaneer’ which is the drink obtained from the tree was found highly nutritious and good for health. It was realized that comparing to the soft drinks in the market it was highly nutritious and healthy and hardly harmful. Since then huge importance was given to the section of coconut farming and different encouragements were given to the farmers who showed excellence in the field.
Yet another world coconut day has passed and we hope the golden days of the favorite tree of Keralites return…
