A candidate must be either a Citizen of India or of Nepal or of Bhutan or a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 01.01.1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Govt. of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination or interview but on final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.
It is proposed to limit the contract term initially for a period of two years, to be reviewed/renewed for further stints of two years each based on the performance of individuals. The Officers to be selected should be aged, minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years, subject to relaxation as per reservation policy. The candidates are required to be Graduates in either Arts/Science or Commerce with 60% marks. (55% for Reserved Category candidates i.e. SC/ST/OBC/PWD). And Should be an MBA/Post Graduate Diploma in Management from a Institution having approval of AICTE. Applicants with IRDA and AMFI certifications will be given preference.

Kerala Panchayath Election 2010 Dates Announced by Election Commission
The local body elections in Kerala got announced yesterday (27/09/2010) by the election commission. Candidate’s nominations are acceptable until October 4, 2010 at the electoral officer’s office and asst electoral officer’s office. Nominations can be submitted from 11 AM to 3 PM. Along with the nominations the candidates need to submit declarations regarding their share, properties, educational details and criminal background too if any. The nominations should also include details about their dependents. Local body elections in this schedule cover the entire 997 Panchayaths, 14 District Panchayats, 52 Municipalities and 5 Corporations.
The nomination fee at Panchayats and Corporations is Rs. 200, Municipalities and Block Panchayaths Rs. 150 and Panchayath’s Rs 100. A reduction of 50 % in fee amount is there for reservation candidates.
The last date for the withdrawal of applications is October 7, 2010.
The local body elections 2010 in Kerala will be conducted in 2 days, 23rd and 25th October 2010.
Elections of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kozhikode, Waynad, Kannur and Kasargod will be conducted on 23rd and Idukki, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur,Palakkad and Malappuram elections on October 25th.
The results of Kerala Panchayath Election 2010 will get declared on October 27,2010.

Calicut to become first Plastic Free District India
Calicut is now getting ready to enjoy the title of first plastic free village in India. A special campaign “Mass Action for Plastic Waste Free” will be inaugurated on October 2, 2010 at Calicut beach. This campaign is a joint venture Kerala Science and Technology Department and Ebgeyor waste management and research centre. The estimated target achievement date is January 26, 2010. An action plan of 4 months is scheduled for this. Plastic Free Calicut will be made possible with the corporation of the Students, Govt and Non Govt Employees.
“Mass Action for Plastic Waste Free” seeks the help and corporation of 50,5000 students from 1500 schools and 56 colleges. The campaign also seeks corporation of Cultural institutions, “Kudumbashree”, Reading Libraries, Clubs etc.
There will be four phases for this campaign. In the first phase Resource recovery centers will be installed for the collection of plastic waste.
The waste from these centers will be collected once in a week for recycling to the Recycling centers in vehicles.
Alternatives for disposable glasses and plates will be promoted.
Control measures will be implemented on the control of plastic flags and decorations, boards and carry bags.

It is time of celebration and happiness in Kerala. Prof.O.N.V Kurup, the renowned poet of Kerala has got the most precious literature award of India. O. N.V Kurup won the Njanapeedam award for the year 2007. The award got declared today ( 24-09-2010). O.N.V Kurup the gifted poet and lyricist of Malayalam cinema is pride and gem of all Keralites. He is the 5th person from Kerala to win the prime honor for literature.
G.Shankara Kurup(1965), S.K. Pottakad(1980), Takazhi Shiva Shankara Pillai( 1984) and M.T Vazudevan Nair are the other Njanapeedam winners from Kerala.
It is now the golden period of Malayalam cinema and literature. Last week Malayalam cinema won several National Film Awards.
The full name of ONV Kurup is Ottaplavil Neelakandan Velu Kurup. He was born on May 27, 1931
The Njanapeedam award for the year 2008 will be given to Urdu poet Shahariyar.
Poetry of ONV
ONV started creating poetry from his school time onwards. His fist collection got released in 1949 titled “Poruthunna Saundharam”( Defending Beauty).

His Career
ONV is an Economics graduate and has done post graduation in Malayalam literature. He worked with various reputed colleges all around Kerala including Ernakulam Maharajas, Trivandrum University College, Calicut Arts and Science College, Thalasherry Govt.Brannen College, Trivandrum Govt.Womens College, Calicut University etc.
He also held the position as Kerala Sahitya Academy member from 1982-1987.He was also the chairman of Kerala Kalamandalam .ONV has also released various studies on topics “Kavithayile Prathisandhikal” (The obstacles in Poetry), “Kavithayile Samanthara Rekhakal”( The alternate documents in Poetry”), Ezuthachan( The Great Poet of Kerala)

Global release of Endhiran on October 1
The much awaited Super Star Rajanikanth’s ultra big budget movie will hit the luckiest silver screens all around the globe on October 1, 2010. Endhiran release will be held in theatres from India, America, England, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia. Endhiran reflects the synergy of greatest talents from India. The magical performance by the gems of Indian Cinema,Rajanikanth and Aishwarya Rai, under the direction hitmaker Shankar with the music of Ocscar award winner A. R Rahman. Endhiran will get released in three languages Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. Some sources say there will be English release too. Earlier Endhiran was scheduled to be released on September 24, 2010. In Hindi Endhiran will be released as Robot.
Endhiran is the greatest dream of Director Shankar. Rajanikanth is personally very happy in his new role as a scientist. Special training and workshops were attended by superstar for making the Robot role“Natural”. This itself shows ambition and professionalism of superstar.
The production cost of Endhiran has crossed Rs. 175 crore. Advaced reservation is started in many theatres. The whole tickets for the first 1 week got reserved within minutes in an American theatre after the announcement of release date. This is the first case here for an Indian movie. Tickets of the Jackson Hikes theatre in Newyork got finished in 10 minutes.
Endhiran is produced by Sun pictures. Sun pictures is a subsidiary of Sun Network a venture of Maran brothers. The movie has got U certification.
