Nostalgic Reunion of Celebrities

House of Priyadarshan and Lissi at Chennai became the most blessed spot of India by hosting the reunion of heroes and heroines of the Golden decade of the South Indian Cinema. This colorful event was organized by actress Suhasini and Lissi. This is second similar kind of alumni of stars of those nostalgic films. The function was titled as Evergreen Eighties. The event started after paying tribute to late hero Vishnuvardhan who was a participant of last alumini held one year before.

The Golden stars participated in this nostalgic event are Rajanikanth, Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal, Venkitesh, Sarath Kumar, Arjun, Ambarish, Prabhu, Karthik, Mohan, Suman, Naresh, Bhanuchandhar, Pratap Pothen, Mukesh, Shankar, Ambika, Radhika, Suhasini, Sumalatha, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Shobhana, Lissi, Radha, Revathy, Nadia, Ramya Krishnan and Kushboo.

All these stars presented themselves green and black. The celebrations lasted whole night and songs, in which these actors acted together, were screened on special theatre.

Mohanlal as Onnam Sir

Lalettan comes in the title role of new movie “Onnam Sir”. Onnam Sir is the name given to the Headmaster in schools of Kerala. This is a low budget movie from Director Rajiv Nath, Pakal Nakshatrangal fame. The movie is based on the story “Pothichor”(Packaged food) by Karoor Neelakanta Pillai. The script is by K.B. Venu and production by Chaya films. The shooting will start by the second week of September.

Voters list in Web

The list of all voters in Kerala is now available in the website http://ceo.kerala.gov.in. For Checking your name in voters list visit the link http://ceo.kerala.gov.in/electoralrolls.html. A voter can select his district & constituency, and then select the polling station for downloading the complete list of voters in that polling booth. This list can be very useful as the Panchayath elections are almost declared. This is a very useful service as a voter can check whether his name is there in the list or not before going to the polling booth.

IRMA Entrance

Institute of Rural Management Anand, which is the prominent institute providing courses on rural management, has invited applications for their 2 courses. The public entrance exam for these courses will be conducted on November 14th 2010. The exam centers include Trivandrum, Cochin, Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Mumbai and Delhi.

The two courses for which applications called are

  • Post Graduate program in rural management of two years(PRM 2011-2013)
  • Fellow Program in rural management of one year (FPRM 2011)

Eligibility: The applicants must be Graduates with minimum 50% marks in 3 year degree course.

The course is a combined training in management and field work. Almost all students of this course are benefitted with good campus placements. Fellowships are provided to students with outstanding performance.

FPRM is a doctoral program.

Oh Yaaro India Bula Liya

The most awaited audio release of this year in India was held on last Saturday. The theme song of Commonwealth games, Delhi 2010 which is a six month work of India’s pride A.R Rahman. This anthem of CWG 2010 was sung by Rahman in front of a large crowd assembled at Kingdom of Dreams, Gurgaon. This colorful ceremony took place in the presence of Mrs. Shila Dixit, Delhi Chief Minister & Chairman of organizing committee games 2010 and Mr.Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Chief Minister of Haryana. The legendary words in this anthem Jiyo Utho Bado Jeeto means Live, Rise, Ascend and Win. This song is capable of inspiring all the participants in the Games and also to share its spirit to the sports enthusiasts.

Mohanlal and Mammooty joins for Arakallan Mukkalkallan

The Super Kings of Kerala Mammooty and Mohanlal will come together in the silver screen by next Onam. Onam 2011 will be a double bonanza for the movie enthusiasts all around the world. It can surely compensate the sorrows of Onam 2010, which had no superstar releases.  This multi superstar movie is christened as “Arakallan Mukkalkallan” which is a comedy thriller. This is the first direction venture of Udayakrishna-Siby. K. Thomas team. This great venture will be produced by Mammooty’s production Playhouse.

Theatres of Kerala can also witness multi star movie of Christian Brothers too from the Udayakrishna-Siby. K. Thomas team soon. Another multi star project “Hello Mayavi” from Rafi-Mecartin  team is now dropped.

Wedding bells for Bala and Amrita

Another star wedding took place in Kerala. Young star Bala wedded the Star Singer fame Amrita Suresh last day at Chennai. The simple wedding ceremony was held in the Shiva Temple at Thriunitrevoor near Chennai. The wedding of Bala and Amritha were fixed one year before. They became friends during the time of Idea star singer contest. Bala came as the celebrity guest and Amrita the contestant of the Idea star singer.

The wedding was held in the presence of a small group of intimate friends and close relatives.

Bala and Amrita are now the shining stars of both Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Bala became familiar to Keralites through the movie Kalabham picturing domestic terrorism. Bala had done notable roles in various Malayalam movies including SMS, Big B, Chempada, Aaydham, Venal Maram, Puthiya Mugham, Ringtone, Dhrona 2010, Black Stallion, Muzafir, Alexander the Great etc and hero roles in Tamil films such as Kalinga, Manjal Veyil, Amma Appa Chellam, Kadhal Kiss Kiss, Anpu etc.

Amrita is now a distinct voice among the playback singers and has sang songs in  movies such as Venal maram, Aagathan and in various albums.
