Indiavision Person of the Year Award Declared

 

The person of the year award by Kerala’s popular new channel Indiavison goes to T.K.A Nair.The award declaration was done by G.Vigayaragavan,the judging committee member. Mr. T.K.A Nair is the Principal Secretary for India prime minister. The award was presented to him by central minister Vayalar Ravi. T.K.A.Nair, unwilling to receive the award amount of one lakh Rupees suggested to donate that to service societies. Indiavision chairman Dr.M.K.Munier, Vice chairman Roy Mathew and Executive editor M.V. NikeshKumar delivered their words in the function.

New Year Greetings from Chief Minister and Governor

Chief Minister Mr.V.S . Achuthanandan greeted the people of Kerala and the Keralites working abroad a prosperous New Year. He wished all that the New Year may bring welfare, peace as well as development. M.r.R.S . Gavai the Governor also made his New year wishes yesterday. New Year celebrations 2010

The New Year is the death day of a year and the birth day of the upcoming year. 31st December 2009 midnight will mark the end of the year 2009 and the great beginning of 2010. Job opportunity in SBI

There are 1717 job vacancies reported in Associate banks of SBI. The vacancies are for the post of probationary officers. The educational qualification for the post is Degree. The job application must be sent online. The last date or application is January 31. The date of written examination is 2010 March 7. Sabarimala Temple Reopens Today for Makaravilaku 2010

After the four days closure from December 26 the Sabarimala temple will reopen for the pilgrims today. Pilgrims from various states are waiting around Pampa for last 3 days. They are not permitted to get to Sannidhanam in order to avoid overcrowding here. The Temple is opened for the famous Makaravilaku festival which is on January 14. This is the time of high pilgrim rate in sabarimala. Forces are deployed to provide service to the pilgrims and to direct them. The temple reopening ceremony will be conducted at 5.30 p.m today. The ceremony will be done by Melsanthi G.Vishnu Namboodiri.

Low floor buses in Kochi

The low floor buses will start running in Kochi from today onwards. At the first phase seven buses are introduced. The inauguration will be conducted in the evening at Vytilla Junction by Union Minister K.V Thomas. At the first phase 7 buses are introduced. Initially these buses will run in 2 fixed routes. They are Fort Kochi-Kakkanad and Aroor- Angamaly. The buses are manufactured by Volvo and are specially designed to suit with the public transportation needs. Twenty drivers and twenty conductors are specially trained by Volvo in its training centre at Bangalore. They are also provided with a recent refresher course here at Kochi. One single bus cost around 80 lakh rupees. The minimum ticket charge is fixed as Rs 10. The buses are under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission scheme. More number of buses will be allotted on the basis of the feedback on this first set. The low floor buses can provide a new experience to the passengers. This is a great milestone in the history of Cochin.

Shanker Mahadevan Musical Night conducted in Cochin

The much awaited music show by Shanker Mahadevan at Cochin is boosted with the presence of huge number of audiences. The show was much colorful even at the presence of unexpected rain outside. This is for the first time Shanker Mahadevan is leading a mega musical event in Kerala. Mr. Devisigh Shekavah the husband of Indian President and other family members were present in the event. The youth singers Afsal, Kartik,Sisily and Malathy were also performed in the show with Shanker Mahadevan.
