India increases 2010 Commonwealth Games budget
India increases the Commonwealth Games 2010 budget to Rs.1, 620 crores (Rs.16.2 billion / $344 million) from Rs.767 crores. The 2010 Commonwealth Games budget is almost doubled as to ensure security of the Commonwealth Games to be conducted in India in 2010. The more amount of money will be spent for creating a better environment, sponsorship and television rights and better delivery of the games and security.
The meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh took the decision of the doubled budget for Commonwealth Games in India. The Indian prime minister assures a “spectacular show” and full protection of the Commonwealth Games from October 3 – 14, 2010 in New Delhi. The Commonwealth Games 2010 starts on October 3 in New Delhi, 2010. Indian Finance Minister increased funding for 2010 Commonwealth Games to make sure the perfection and safety of the Commonwealth Games.
The revised 2010 Indian budget for Commonwealth (CG) Games will generate revenue of about Rs.1, 708 crores from the CG 2010. The 19th Commonwealth Games in Delhi will host 17 sporting disciplines and competitions for Elite Athletes with Disability (EAD) at the Commonwealth Games will also be there. The Commonwealth Games ticket bookings, Commonwealth Games Sponsorship and TV rights, Commonwealth Games security, Commonwealth Games environment, hotels near Commonwealth Games venue in India, accommodation for the athletes of the Commonwealth Games, accommodation for the visitors of Commonwealth Games India, etc. need a large budget and al these will later add the revenue of India after the Commonwealth Games 2010. New items essential for the successful delivery of the games are provided in the renewed budget of the Commonwealth Games committee.
The budget for the organizing headquarters is around Rs.175 crores and the budget for technology is around Rs.200 crores as per the current Indian Commonwealth Games budget. The number of days of the Queen’s Baton Relay (QBR) has also been revised to 240 days from 136 approved previously in order to cover all the 70 Commonwealth Games Association nations and territories. The number of volunteers of the Commonwealth Games is 30,000 and the new budget will include the cost of accreditation, food, uniform of the Commonwealth Games volunteers India.
Information and Broadcasting Minister of India, Ambika Soni knows that it is going to be one of the best sports businesses of India. The Commonwealth Games Organizing Committee looks forward to upgrade the existing facilities of the scheduled 2010 Commonwealth Games from October 3-14. The capital spent on the CG will be recovered and added to the revenue of India later. According to the Indian Information and Broadcasting Minister, the organizing board will generate a net income of Rs. 1,708 crores approximately.

And the food festival will be held from November 5th – 15th at four restaurants in Stockholm. The diners at Scandinavia will get a chance to win free holiday packages to fly to Kerala provided by the Qatar Airways. This is the most expected show of the Scandinavian tourists to Kerala, India.
